Lilian worked for most of her life at Port Penrhyn and was built by the Hunslet Engineering Company of Leeds in 1883 as No. 317. She was rescued by Nigel Bowman in 1965, and was then restored by him. She was moved to the Launceston Steam Railway line when it opened in 1983, and has had air brake equipment and a new boiler fitted, and an alteration of gauge since arriving.
