Celebrating these unique steam locomotives

A new locomotive built for export to America has been tested at Launceston Steam Railway. The loco is based on the design of the Quarry Hunslets used on our railway, but incorporates modifications to produce a better loco. She was built by Trevor and Tony Stirland at the Exmoor Steam Railway, Bratton Fleming and is named Dame Ann.
She has now become resident at Wales West in Alabama.

Dame Ann has been steamed on 11th April, 2nd May and 30th May 2004 by the Stirlands. She was attached to one end of the passenger train, which was top and tailed with one resident loco.
